Dundee United vs Motherwell FC

Dundee Utd are lying in 4th position in the Scotland Premiership and they are in contention for the Championship round. After 5 consecutive wins, they suffered 3 consecutive defeats in the league but then in their last 5 league matches, their performances became stable, with 1 defeat, 3 draws and their last match ended in a victory against Kilmarnock. They have no problems scoring goals as they have the second best attack in the league behind Celtic. Defender Gunning (14/0) has recovered from his injury and he may feature in this match while midfielder Gauld (21/5) is doubtful until match kick off.

 

On the other side, Motherwell are just a place above Dundee Utd in the league. They have a decent form in the league. In their last 9 games, they lost only once, drew once and won 7 times. Their last match ended in a 4-3 home win against relegation battler Partick Thistle. However, they are going to miss many players for this match. Defender Kerr (11/0), defender Ramsden (18/0), goalkeeper Hollis (9/0), forward Moore (10/1), midfielder Lawson (17/0) are definitely out. Midfielder and captain Lasleys (24/2), midfielder Carswell (22/0) and second top scorer Anier (23/7) are very doubtful. I don't expect them to play because the coach said these players have not trained at all during the week and he is going to look at the Under 20s squad to find some players. He further added that it's time for the young players to step up and show what they can do.

 

With Motherwell missing so many players, Dundee United have a good chance of winning this home game. Last encounter between these teams ended in a 0-4 away win for Dundee United.
