 England Championship

Watford - Charlton

Vicarage Road will host the match between Watford and Charlton. The Hornets will be looking to put an end to a three-match winless run, whereas the visitors will be aiming to build on their promising display against Leicester City.
Last season Watford were unfortunate to secure their place in the Premier League as they lost to Crystal Palace 1-0 in the play-offs. The Hornets opened the new Championship campaign in a style, beating Birmingham 1-0 on the road and trashing Bournemouth 6-1 at their Vicarage Road. However, Gianfranco Zolaˈs men have started to struggle ever since and they are on a three-match winless run ahead of the clash against Charlton Athletic. Gianfranco Zola hopes his team will come back stronger following the international break and the Italian coach will surely adopt an attack-minded approach on Saturday afternoon. The Hornets were unfortunate to lose 1-0 to Blackpool in their last league match as they totally outplay the hosts in the first half. Watford are a real force to be reckoned with at home, but the biggest problem for the hosts is Diego Fabbriniˈs injury. Gianfranco Zola hopes that his fellow Italian should make it on time to recover for the clash against Charlton, but Troy Deeney will surely pose a much bigger threat for the visitors, with the striker already netting five goals this season.

Diego Fabbrini is a doubtful for the match against Charlton Athletic. Almen Abdi will be also assessed ahead of the clash at Vicarage Road. Nyron Nosworthy and Tommie Hoban are sidelined with long-term injuries.

Having finished the last season in 9th place, Charlton Athletic continued with their habit of having ups and downs in the new Championship campaign. Following two consecutive defeats to Bournemouth and Middlesbrough, the Red Army shared spoils with Barnsley and finally picked up three points by beating Leicester City 2-1 at The Valley. The former Premier League team are not strong as they used to be and they are considered as mid table side in the Championship. As before Charlton Athletic produce much better displays at home ground, but the team often struggle to find their game on the road and they are currently on a four-match winless run on the travels in the Championship. During the summer window the club chiefs have done a great job by signing Marvin Sordell on loan from Bolton and he is certainly the biggest reinforcement to the squad. However, the striker is yet to score a goal this term and he even sat out the last match against Leicester City. The Red Army will be satisfied with a point form Vicarage Road, but I am not sure if they are capable of avoiding defeat on Saturday afternoon.

Chris Powell will add Cameron Stewart, Ben Alnwick and fit-again Chris Solly to their squad for the trip to Watford. Winger Stewart has left the club before the transfer deadline.
When the two teams square off against each other we always see goals galore. Watford are certainly superior to their rivals and especially at Vicarage Road, therefore I believe that we are about to see a football festival, with the hosts emerging triumphant.
